A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam and Andhra University, paving the way for an internship program for engineering students. This initiative aims to promote nation-building and encourage youth to join the Indian Navy.
During their 5th and 6th semesters, students from AU College of Engineering and other affiliated colleges will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in various engineering fields such as Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Naval Architecture, and Marine Engineering. Students will also receive hands-on exposure to shipboard machinery maintenance, including propulsion and auxiliary machinery, deck machinery, power generation systems, instrumentation control, sensors, and other electronic systems. The MoU was signed on 11 Jun 2023 by Rear Admiral Sanjay Sadhu, Admiral Suprintendent Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam and the Registrar, Prof V Krishna Mohan on behalf of Andhra University in presence of Prof. PVGD Prasad Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Prof. G Sashibhushana Rao, Principal AUCE and other HsOD.
