Keyword Analysis

Keyword Analysis - understanding your market place when it comes to choseing the correct keyword phrases will make the difference.

Branding and Existing Brands:

Consider how your Business will be viewed and percieved online, a company may only wish to include one specific search term ( an exact keyword or phrase ) on their website, for example, pre-owned items to advertise their brand and not used items, but analysis shows the fact that more searches where conducted for used items rather than pre-owned items indicates that used items would be a more appropriate choice and changes should be implemented.

Existing brand companies are already established online so the marketplace is very competitive for their given keywords.

Concentrating on those keywords which attain a vast number of searches but also have an equal amount of competition is better avoided, it can prove expensive when employing a PPC ( pay per click ) campaign.

Long Tail Keywords:

In keyword research the long tail is the expansion of base keywords in various combinations, this would form a key-phrase which is made up of at least three words consisting of individual search specific terms, on their own these keywords rate highly in search queries but are broad. Incorporating long tail keywords within a website will refine a search query, by doing so may result in less traffic, but this in turn will lead to more quality traffic who's conversion rate is significantly higher because of the more defined nature of the search.

Keyword Misspelling:

It is an event which happens to all of us, either a typing input error or a simple misspelling mistake which normally the search database will query the error but also display results pages for the search term.

Global English language spelling does not come down to poor understanding but to the fact that words are viewed slightly differently depending where you come from, for instance in the USA - Optimization , which when compared to the UK spelling of - Optimisation is the same word, with the same meaning only spelt in a different way.

Anticipate the spelling of important keywords by understanding the audience of a website.
